A vast outpouring of psychoanalytic literature has been devoted to sexual perversion. Mental symbolization is likewise one of the most contentious topics in our field. Gregorio Kohon’s paper is, to the best of my knowledge, the first to explore these two well-established objects of analytic investigation by juxtaposing them with the analysis of Jokes – a theme that one would associate with the early history of psychoanalytic writing.
